The 168th Annual Northwestern University Commencement

Commencement is the all Northwestern ceremony where the graduating class is commemorated as a whole. During the ceremony, student, faculty and guest speakers will address graduates and their families.
McCormick PhD Hooding and Master's Degree Recognition Ceremony

Graduation Speaker
Aaron W. Saak (PhD '00, MS '97) is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Crane NXT, a global leader in authentication and traceability technologies with more than 6,000 employees and approximately $2 billion in annual revenue.
Mr. Saak has over two decades of experience guiding technology‑focused, multinational businesses. Before joining Crane NXT, he served as President and CEO of Mobility Solutions and President of Gilbarco Veeder‑Root (GVR), a subsidiary of Vontier Corporation. Earlier in his career, Mr. Saak held senior leadership positions at Tyco International and General Electric in engineering, product development, and business management.
Mr. Saak holds a Ph.D. in materials science and a master’s degree in industrial engineering from Northwestern University. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana‑Champaign.
In addition to his role at Crane NXT, Mr. Saak serves on the Board of Directors of A. O. Smith Corporation.

Graduation Speaker
Antonio Daniels ('93, MBA '15) is living proof that a foundation built in engineering can become a platform to lead industries, transform institutions, and create lasting impact at the highest levels of business and society. A dual graduate of Northwestern University, holding a degree in electrical engineering and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, he has built a career defined by innovation, leadership, and service.
Today, Antonio serves as Chief Information Officer of Comcast Business, where he partners with senior executives to lead large-scale technology transformation and growth initiatives. Across more than three decades of leadership, he has guided organizations through moments of complexity and change, with expertise spanning cybersecurity, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, software engineering, and post-acquisition integration.
Prior to Comcast, Antonio held senior leadership roles at Charter Communications, where he helped scale Spectrum Mobile, and with the State of Illinois, where he earned the Computerworld Laureate Award for advancing a groundbreaking shared services initiative.
He has also dedicated his time to community impact through board service with organizations including Merit School of Music, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the Urban League of St. Louis.
Register for Your Ceremony
Graduates who wish to attend the McCormick PhD Hooding and Master's Degree Recognition Ceremony or the Undergraduate Convocation Ceremony must register by May 24:
- Visit northwestern.tassel.com/.
- Select 'Register' under the 'Sign In' button.
- Register using the email address where you received this email.
- Instructions for setting your password will be sent to your email address. Select the ‘Set Password’ link included in the email.
- Your ceremony will appear after you have finished logging in. Select 'Register Here.'
- Complete the registration form and select 'Submit.'
When registering, you will also be able to confirm how you would like your name to be displayed and pronounced at the ceremony.

Pick Up or Purchase Your Regalia
Regalia must be worn by all participating graduates. It is important to order as soon as possible.
Please visit the University's regalia webpage and follow the ordering instructions.
Key Dates for PhD Regalia
- June 8 - June 14 – Dates for picking up PhD regalia from the Norris bookstore. Walk-in PhD rentals from available stock also begin.
Key Dates for Master's Regalia
- May 18 - June 12 – Dates for walk-in purchases at Norris bookstore for graduates who have not already ordered master's regalia.
Key Dates for Undergraduate Regalia
- If you have not ordered your bachelor's or master's regalia, you have the option to purchase it at the bookstore between May 18 and June 12.
McCormick BS/MS graduates will be recognized at our Undergraduate Convocation and should wear Master's regalia.

Order Ceremony Tickets
Tickets are required for all guests at Commencement and school convocations.
Login instructions for the Graduation Tickets website are sent to eligible students via email. If you have not received instructions, you can look at the emails previously sent to the Class of 2026 or send an email to the Graduation Office, noting your school name.
Graduates may order UP TO 8 tickets to the McCormick PhD Hooding and Master’s Degree Recognition Ceremony or McCormick Undergraduate Convocation Ceremony.
Ticket restrictions for other ceremonies vary, including University Commencement at the United Center. Please review the Graduation Tickets webpage for important information on ordering deadlines, waitlists, and maximum ticket allotments for all Commencement and school convocation events. The ticketing portal will close on June 1.
McCormick BS/MS graduates are invited to participate in Undergraduate Convocation, where both the BS and MS degrees will be recognized.
